FAQ’s Related To Windshield Replacement

Windshield damages are common and can happen anytime, anywhere. What’s important is that you don’t neglect the signs of damage and take your car for windshield repair or replacement. Skilled and experienced windshield repair experts will carefully look at the damage and let you know if the auto glass repair would do or a complete replacement of the glass is required. While windshield repair and replacements are very common, there are still many doubts people have regarding it. Here we list down the three most frequently asked questions related to windshield replacement:

Question 1: Does one need to take the car to the repair shop?

Answer: This varies from service provider to service provider. While there are a few service providers that offer free pick and drop service for windshield replacement, there are others where one has to    take the car to the service centre for replacement. You can choose one as per your convenience. For those who are injured, can’t drive or are too busy with work or other commitments, choosing a service provider that offers free pick up and drop would just be the best option as then you would not have to worry about anything.

Question 2: How much time does the windshield replacement process takes?

Answer: Replacement of a damaged windshield can ideally be done in a day. However, the time required mainly depends on the skills and expertise of the technicians performing windshield replacement. So if you don’t have much time and want the windshield replacement to be done quickly, it is advised that you choose reputed service providers only. For instance, if you want to get the windshield glass replacement in Gurgaon, it is advised that you look for the reputed service providers in that area. This is because reputed companies have a team of experts that are skilled and have years of experience in performing windshield replacement.

Question 3: How soon can the car be washed after the replacement?

Answer: According to the experts, one should wait for a day at least before washing the car. Avoiding high pressure care wash for a few days is still better. This is because high pressure water spraying may damage the windshield seal and moulding if these are not fully cured. It is important to note here that rain water is not an issue with the newly replaced windshield so don’t fret if there’s a downpour.
